DOWNER AWARDED NEW NBN CONTRACT

19 June 2024 DOWNER AWARDED NEW NBN CONTRACT Downer EDI Limited (Downer) today announced it had been awarded a new contract by NBN Co Limited (nbn), with an estimated value of more than $100 million over the initial three-year term. The Business Deployment Module contract begins in October 2024 and includes a two-year extension option. Under this contract, Downer will augment the nbn® network through network extension and the connection of full fibre technology to businesses in large parts of Western Australia, South Australia, Northern Territory and New South Wales. Scope of works to be delivered by Downer includes network inspection and minor design activities, underground pit and pipe works, and construction of aerial or underground fibre in relation to Enterprise Ethernet, GPON and Smart Places to business locations where demand arises within the nbn footprint. Downer is a leading provider of fixed and wireless network services in Australia and New Zealand and one of the largest constructors and maintainers of the national broadband network.
