Copthorne Hotel Greymouth to open 1 March 2022

COPTHORNE HOTEL GREYMOUTH TO OPEN 1st MARCH 2022 Millennium & Copthorne Hotels New Zealand Limited (NZX:MCK) is pleased to announce that the hotel at 32 Mawhera Quay, Greymouth will reopen on 1 March 2022 as Copthorne Hotel Greymouth. The hotel has traded as Kingsgate Hotel Greymouth until now. MCK Managing Director Mr. BK Chiu said that the rebranding confirmed MCK's commitment to invest in the West Coast. "Over the years, more and more visitors have come to know and appreciate the attractions of the West Coast of the South Island and Greymouth in particular and this upgrade and rebrand to one of our key regional hotels will ensure that it remains the preferred choice for accommodation there", he said. The refurbished hotel will have a total of 53 guest rooms over 6 floors. A new 55-seat restaurant and bar area has been created in the tower block and the reception area has also been redesigned. With its location in a rugged and dramatically beautiful part of New Zealand, the hotel overlooks the Mawheranui (Grey River) and is close to Greymouth Station where the internationally renowned Tranz Alpine train journey from Christchurch ends.
