Melanie Templeton appointed as independent director

The MTF Finance Board is pleased to announce that Melanie Templeton will be appointed to the board as an independent director on 18 December 2020. Melanie's background includes technology, finance, risk and commercial skills which will add significant value to the board. She brings a broad range of industry experience, including banking, fintech and agri-tech and will add valuable operational, marketing and customer perspectives to strategic discussions. Outside of her governance experience, she has held executive roles that include Interim Group Executive, General Manager and Head of Marketing with RaboDirect Australia and New Zealand. The board believe her skillset will be very complementary to the existing skills around the board table and will help guide MTF Finance through the challenges and opportunities ahead. Melanie is currently Chair of PledgeMe Ltd, Independent Director and Chair of Audit and Risk Committee for XERRA Ltd, is a member of the Inland Revenue Independent Risk and Assurance Committee and is a member of the Institute of Directors. As one of two independent directors, Melanie's appointment will ensure ongoing balance on the board, with her knowledge and experience in digital transformation, marketing and risk management. Chairman to retire As previously indicated, Stephen Higgs has announced his retirement from the board of MTF Finance. Stephen joined the board as an independent director in 2006 before being appointed as Chair in 2011. The board and management wish to acknowledge the contribution of Stephen, who has been at the helm of the board during some of the most challenging and successful periods in the company's history. His guidance and leadership during the recovery from the Global Financial Crisis, takeover bids and the COVID-19 pandemic have been invaluable and he will leave the board, and the company, in a great position for the future. Mark Darrow, who was appointed as independent Director in July 2020, will replace Stephen as Chair of MTF Finance.
