Scott St John to join Mercury Board 31 August 2017 - Leading investment advisor and capital markets expert, Scott St John, has been appointed to the Mercury Board effective 1 September 2017. Mr St John fills a vacancy created by the retirement of Mike Allen who ended his tenure in November 2016 after seven years' service. He is also a board member of Next Foundation, and a former member of the Capital Markets Development Taskforce and the Financial Markets Authority Establishment Board. Mercury Chair, Joan Withers, said she was delighted to be welcoming Mr St John to the Mercury Board. "We have been working carefully towards an appointment that would ensure that the Board continued to be well balanced with the skills, experience and diversity to guide Mercury over the long term in a dynamic and highly competitive environment," Ms Withers said. "Mr St John's strong capital markets background and his broad commercial experience adds to the Board's collective skills, a review of which has recently been completed." In terms of NZX Main Board Listing Rule 3.3.3, the Board of Mercury NZ Limited has determined that Scott St John is an Independent Director.
